Papua New Guinea Cultural Trip

Immerse yourself in the culture of a civilization all but untouched by the western world. Join us as we travel to the Highland Region of Papua New Guinea to experience the ‘Goroka Show’; The longest running and most significant cultural event. We then travel to the coast of Tufi where we will dive the clear, calm and protected waters of the tropical fjords as well as the vibrant reefs surrounding the island, teeming with life. Diving here offers some of the best underwater photography opportunities in the world!

Our adventure begins after arriving in the capital city of Port Moresby. After a night of rest, we travel to the Goroka Highlands for three days of cultural immersion at the 'Goroka Show'. This cultural event was believed to be started to promote peace between the tribes of New Guinea. Also while in the highlands, we will spend a day with the Asaro Mud Men. We then travel to Tufi, via an overnight stay in Port Moresby, for 6 days (approximately 17 dives) of diving and a cultural day-trip to Maclaren Sound. Here you will see an abundance of wildlife from Mandarin Fish and Sharks to Pygmy Seahorse and Nudibranchs. We round out our trip with one more quick stop in Port Moresby before heading back to the states.
